Education to End Genocide

Teach Against Genocide (TAG) works to ensure that every student learns about genocide and what they can do to prevent and stop them. We lobby local school boards and state legislatures to make genocide education a part of the school curriculum and to provide teacher trainings and materials. Is genocide being taught in your state? Click on a state below to see if your state has any relevant legislation or existing academic standards. Each profile also includes information on genocide education state resources. While we will be updating these profiles periodically, please contact Info@TeachAgainstGenocide.org with any new or missing information!

As the map above shows, only a handful of states have legislation that mandates that the subject of genocide needs to be included in public education. Even fewer states have legislation that allocates funding for teacher training regarding this critical subject. We need your help to give every American student the opportunity to learn about this important subject that is extremely relevant to our world today.
